Dr Tung's Ionic Toothbrush

I am a standard non-electric toothbrush user.  I previously have used an electric toothbrush as a gift for Christmas one year, but over the years it got old and I just went back to the traditional non-electric toothbrush.  The most unpleasant part about a routine teeth cleaning for me is when the hygienist must scrape the plaque off my teeth.  The noise and the scratching (just thinking about it) makes me shudder.  So in order to lessen the ordeal, I tried out Dr. Tung’s Ionic Toothbrush. dr-tungs-ionic-toothbrush-banner First of all, the paper packaging was sealed abnormally tight.  It took me over 5 minutes just to get the toothbrush out of the packaging.  Also the perforated section was perfectly placed on the short directions on the back of the package and I ended up having to rip the directions into shreds just to get the toothbrush out of the packaging.  Good thing there was a double-sided sheet of directions enclosed.  The directions were a little daunting but it seemed like all I had to do was wet my thumb and place it on a small rounded metal strip which was perfectly situated where my thumb would be placed on the toothbrush anyways.  The brush head was extremely soft, which was nice but I just didn’t feel like it was cleaning my teeth like a medium brush would effectively clean my teeth.  I felt like I was just lightly gliding the toothbrusth over my teeth.  After every teeth brushing, I also always brush my tongue (I heard it makes your breath clean) and as I was doing this I tasted metal.  So that basically ruined my experience with Dr. Tung’s ionic toothbrush.  Afterwards I felt like my teeth seemed more sensitive and glossy as the FAQ’s on the doubled sided directions stated.  I guess it was the ions working but I don't plan on trying this product again.  I have self-diagnosed myself as having somewhat sensitive teeth and I felt like for the rest of the day, my teeth were missing a protective layer. Rating: 1 star out of 5 Dr Tung's IONIC toothbrush may be 'the most advanced toothbrush in the world'! Unlike regular toothbrushes which try to force plaque off the teeth by friction, the IONIC brush makes the teeth let go of plaque, like turning off a magnet! Plaque gets released even in hard to reach areas! It is clinically proven to be far more effective than a regular toothbrush and users report cleaner, whiter teeth and little or no plaque when visiting their dentist! It really works! Actually, the whole object of brushing your teeth is to remove plaque, right? But a recent independent report showed that ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES - including SONICARE - do not remove significantly more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush! Yet the Ionic toothbrush has been clinically shown to remove 36% more plaque than a manual brush!
