CAUTION: People with MILK
PROTEIN allergies should NOT use this or any other product
containing Recaldent as Recaldent is derived from milk.
NOTE: MI paste is NOT a toothpaste
and should not be applied like toothpaste i.e. do not
brush your teeth with it. MI paste is applied
to the tooth with either a finger or can be applied
in either a custom whitening tray if you have one) or
a boil and bite tray.
Mi paste can also be professionally applied by the hygienist
with a polishing cup during your prophylaxis (tooth
cleaning). Recommended to leave on the tooth for 3-5
minutes and then expectorate (spit out). For maximum
benefit, do NOT rinse with water after application.
What is MI Paste and how does
it work?
GC MI Paste contains RECALDENT™ (CPP-ACP) which is
made from a natural protein extracted from milk. DO NOT USE IF
YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO MILK PRODUCTS. RECALDENT™ (CPP-ACP) acts
in a dual manner, by providing a source of calcium and phosphate,
while also supplying a soluble format for delivery of these essential
minerals to the tooth surface. MI Paste comes in individual 40g
tubes in five delicious flavors.
MI Paste could be helpful
If you are experiencing any form of tooth sensitivity. Tooth
sensitivity is a common side effect
Immediately following bleaching for tooth whitening
After your teeth have been professionally cleaned and polished
If you suffer from dry mouth, which could be a side effect
of prescription or non prescription medicines.
If you are susceptible to dehydration from sporting activities
or outdoor work.
If you currently have orthodontic bands or brackets or have
just had them removed
If you are pregnant and your mouth acid levels are higher
than normal
How to use it
GC MI Paste can be applied into a pre-formed tray and placed
in the mouth. Alternatively squeeze a small amount of GC MI
Paste from the tube onto your finger and apply it over the surfaces
of the teeth. If you are in the middle of orthodontic treatment,
apply MI Paste around the areas where the bands and brackets are
attached to the teeth.
How often should I use it?
In most situations you will apply it after brushing your teeth,
both morning and night. If starting tooth whitening apply GC
MI Paste immediately following each whitening session. When undergoing
orthodontic treatment apply GC MI Paste twice daily for the
entire time the bands or brackets are attached to your teeth. If
you regularly suffer from dry mouth you may need to use MI Paste
more often. Please discuss this with your dentist.
The smile says it all
These days more and more people are whitening their teeth, either
as a one step procedure at their dentist or under supervision at
home. Whichever method is used, the whitening process removes proteins
and moisture from the teeth – in the same way as shampooing strips
your hair of essential oils and nutrients. So, just as you put conditioner
on your hair to restore its vitality, you need to replenish minerals
and nutrients in your teeth after whitening. Fortunately, there
is now a product that does just this. GC MI Paste has
been specially formulated to nourish teeth before and after the
whitening process, thereby helping to achieve greater vitality and
more esthetically pleasing appearance. If you want to obtain the
best results after whitening, then GC MI Paste is an important
consideration.
Do I need to continue using
MI Paste after whitening?
The teeth may look or feel dry immediately after whitening. Sometimes
they will also feel sensitive, so we recommend you continue the
daily GC MI Paste application for a week after the final whitening
procedure, to add minerals to your teeth, to complement the new
whiter look and to give them that beautiful vital appearance.
Whitening in the dental office
If you plan to have the whitening carried out in the dental office
the procedure can often be completed in just one hour. Your dentist
may recommend a daily application of GC MI Paste before whitening.
In this case, make sure you do not apply it on the day of your appointment.
After the whitening procedure you will be asked to apply GC
MI Paste over the whitened surface and continue a once or twice
daily application for one week.
What about at home?
Home whitening is not as concentrated as in the dental office,
so after each whitening procedure apply GC MI Paste over the
same area as the whitening gel was placed and leave undisturbed
for 3 minutes. Then either wash off or leave to slowly dissipate.
Be sure to follow the instructions as set out by the manufacturer
of the whitening gel before applying MI Paste. Once the whitening
treatment has been fully completed, continue a daily application
of MI Paste for another seven days..
DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO MILK PRODUCTS.
Is MI Paste safe to swallow?
Yes. The main active ingredient of MI Paste is derived from milk
casein and like milk and cheese, is safe. Products containing RECALDENT™
(CPPACP) should not be consumed by people with milk protein allergies.
RECALDENT™(CPP-ACP) is digestible by people with lactose intolerance.
Do I need to wash it off?
This is a matter of preference. For the maximum benefit, leave
it on the teeth as long as possible. The minimum recommended application
time is three minutes. You can then rinse or simply wipe any remaining
cream from the teeth.
Does MI Paste contain fluoride?
No. However if your dentist recommends that you need an additional
fluoride treatment program, you can safely use both MI Paste and
fluoride products at the same time.
About RECALDENT (CPP-ACP)
